When the only sign ups for the CA one ball tournament on the last Monday bank holiday of the year were from Blewbury, BCC decided to cancel the fixture, abolish the entry fee and hold an internal tournament instead.

With the first two in each block qualifying for the afternoon round robin finale, quality rose to the top. In the showdown, David Long, unbeaten all morning, recorded a further two victories to claim the engraved glass, with Brian second, Duncan third and a jaded Peter Allan, his handicap reduced to 1 by his first Super-B Advanced win over the previous two days, fourth.
