There are three manuals available: one for the machine, one for the charger and one for the battery. They are in the drawer near the charger. This is a summary.
Preliminaries
If the machine is standing on end then lower it to the ground. It may be in either shed.
The handle has five positions. Press and hold the large lever near the pivot of the handle and move past the position for installing the grass collector and down to one of the three positions according to which you find comfortable. Open the bright green clips on the handle and pull the handle out fully and clip back into place.
The heights of the mower can be altered in 10mm steps between 20mm and 80mm. It should have been left at a sensible height. The lever by the rear left wheel moves all four wheels together.
Raise the flap at the back of the machine and insert the grass collector which uses two large clips to locate it and has an indicator which is held up by the air flow and drops down when the grass collector is full.
Raise the battery flap and insert a battery until it clicks into place. There is an isolating key in the form of a two pin pug which will probably have been left in the machine. Without this key it will not run.
Starting and controlling the machine
It has two motors one for the rotating blade and one for the wheels. All the controls are at the end of the handle. If you let go of the handle the machine will come to a stop.
Blade only
To start the blade simply hold the safety switch in the middle of the handlebars and pull the wire handle towards you and release the safety switch. The cutter should start rotating and you can then push the machine two mow. Release the wire handle and it will stop.
Propulsion motor to drive the wheels
There is a rotating knob on the handlebars to control the speed. Set it to off and press one of the green buttons to each side – nothing should happen until you rotate the speed control which you should do to make the machine move. Let go of the button and it will stop. Rather than moving the speed control each time you will probably find your preferred speed before pressing one of the start buttons as it has a soft start.
Normal use with blade and propulsion
This is a combination of the above. Start the blade and then start the wheels. Let go of the button and propulsion stops. Let go of the wire and the blade stops.
Recharging
At 10% charge a single red light will flash on the battery. When all five lights flash you need to charge it. Push the button by the battery and the battery will jump up to allow removal. Take it to one of the two chargers and slide it in to the powered up charger. The fan will come on and charging will start. When it is charged (about 35 to 40 minutes for the fast oen and 120 minutes for the slow, black coloured one ) the fan will continue to run for a while and you will see that it is ready when the lights on the charger are stable and the fan has stopped. Take the battery out if you wish to use it in the mower and turn off the charger, otherwise leave it in the charger with the charger still powered. If you find the charger turned on with no fan running it can be switched off. It is also permitted, if you don’t need a full charge to finish off mowing, to remove the battery before it has fully charged.
Finishing off
With the battery removed turn the machine on it side and remove any build up of grass. Recharge the battery. Put the machine back as you found it.
Safety
Don’t put hands or feet below the machine
If you want to examine the blade then either remove the battery or the isolating key
